Airborne: These sounds will encompass loud voices, music, dogs barking, shouting or any noise that travels via air.

Impact: When the sound is caused by vibration to a surface, then it is generally referred to as impact sounds, for instance children running, people’s footfall/walking, chairs scraping across a floor, doors slamming etc.
