When sounds are heard from a building next door, it frequently means that there is minimal or no insulation. Even if there is a double brick wall, the sound can still travel through settlement cracks, chimneys etc. Below you will find some of the key systems that we use to reduce these noise levels. Various alternative or combination systems are also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

QShould I remove my current ceiling?
ANo, particularly not if it’s a ‘lath and plaster’ ceiling as this can act as an extra sound insulation layer

QCan the noise still travel down the wall?
AYes, this is quite possible – especially with hollow or stud walls. Where possible (especially with Independent Ceilings) we fill top walls with acoustic wool to prevent flanking noise

QWhat if I have built-in wardrobes?
AIn most cases we continue with the soundproofing into the wardrobe and trim the doors where necessary
